About the Trainer
Melissa Chiu is a dedicated Clinical Consultant with nearly two decades of experience in youth mental health and trauma-informed care. A Registered Social Worker in Hong Kong, she developed and led successful programs such as LevelMind@JC at Caritas, focusing on youth well-being and community engagement.
Melissa also serves as an Honorary Lecturer at HKU, teaching trauma and youth mental health. Her expertise includes evidence-based treatments like EMDR and AEDP, and she has trained over 2,000 professionals in trauma-informed care. She is the lead author of LevelMind@JC-Caritas (Kwai Tsing) Day Engagement Program: A Guidebook for Supporting Youths with Emotional Challenges Attending School.
Melissa is passionate about empowering youth and advancing best practices in mental health service delivery. In this workshop, she and her team will share their expertise and guide participants through an experiential journey to explore intimacy, boundaries, self-compassion, and balanced relationships. They look forward to connecting with you!

After this workshop, you will:
- Develop a foundational understanding of accent and intelligibility concepts
- Learn how to articulate specific English sounds and understand how this affects intelligibility
- Learn how to improve English fluency using strategies such as stress, linking, vowel duration, intonation, and prosody
- Build an understanding of functional applications for these skills when utilising English
